Vacationing in Belize at Belize Odyssey Resort put a lot of wind back into my sail. The reasonable rates for accommodations, meals, and activities is what made this trip affordable enough for me to take. The incredible customer service and quality of the rooms is what helped to make the whole experience outstanding.
The well-maintained hotel estate is open, green, and welcoming. The layout of the rooms is thoughtful. It really feels like the owners took the time to think about the amount of space and the amenities, like in suite refrigerators, that their guests would need. The activity room and lounge are great places to relax and meet people. The on-property beach and dock give you the option to kick back in solitude if you prefer to take a break from the action in the center of town.
Hotel owner and operator, Tony Vega, is the man who puts the icing on the cake. He makes you feel like Caye Caulker is your home because he opens the island up to you. He can answer any question you have about the caye: the history, what to do, where to go, who to talk to, and when to do it. He thoroughly responds to a wide range of requests you make of him and anticipates your needs. Tony did things like took me shopping to stock my refrigerator, showed me a great bike rental shop, pointed out a spot to buy fresh made juice each morning, and put me down with a great place for breakfast.
He made booking, transfers, meal and activity planning, a breeze. This was important to me because I love water sports like scuba diving and windsurfing. He suggested additional activities and as a result I ended going cave tubing, fishing, lobster harvesting, for boat ride at sunset, and for a hike in the tropical rain forest. Tony told me where to go for the best prices, equipment, and overall service, and his recommendations were topnotch.
The only difficulty I had while I was at Belize Odyssey Resort was having to leave. I had an awesome time. My second visit was as great as my first.

BEST OF THE BEST 07/07/2007 by Mamirica: I like this hotel very much. I loved the room it was kept very clean everyday and Tony owner is wonderful. My breakfast too it was a real pleasure staying here.
- THE BEST HOST YOU COULD EVER WISH FOR - by satisfied visitor. 9/21/2005: I spent 8 nights at Belize Odyssey Resort fishing, eating, and drinking. Loads of space and the largest dock on the island where you can often see Rays, Tarpon Barracuda and many other fish. My host Tony Vega could not have been more helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and he was always on hand to ask questions where to go eat and drink. He made the trip even more enjoyable if that is possible. If there was a down side to the hotel again it would be the 15 minute walk to town but after 1 too many Belikin
(Belizean beer) it does you no harm. I’m already planning my return trip for next year.

BELIZE ODYSSEY by JEFFNJESS 05/03/2005: My wife and I spent our honeymoon here. The hospitality and friendliness of the owner Tony Vega is unsurpassed. The place is not fancy but it is very comfortable. If you come expecting the Hyatt Regency, you will be disappointed but the friendliness of the locals, the peace and quiet make it the perfect getaway for those not preoccupied with “fancy”. Caye Caulker is very low key and laid back, you don’t really even need to bring shoes.-
MY FAVORITE ON CAYE CAULKER by Kman 7/11/04: I’vestayed in a few places on Caye Caulker and have been there a number of times over the last ten years. Tony andhis resort is the best I’ve found. Huge privateresort grounds with private beach and dock. Every otherhotel in town is very small, with limited facilities-definitely worth a look.
